50 years of music from the artists of tomorrow.
The Drop-in concerts have now been part of the Bergen International Festival programme for half a century. The concert series with students from the Grieg Academy is a dear tradition which provides an opportunity to get to know artists who will influence the Norwegian music scene in years to come.
During this year's Festival, the 50th anniversary will be celebrated for three consecutive days. The opening concert on Thursday 23 May will be led by pianist and former Grieg Academy student Sjur Hjeltnes, and here there will be verbal and musical greetings from near and far, highlights from this year's programme – and surprises! On the day 50 years after the very first concert – Friday 24 May – there will be a jubilee concert with a look back at the history with music and performers from the history of the Drop-in concerts. Participants include vocalist Berit Opheim, pianist sisters Signe Bakke and Turid Bakke Braut, composer Knut Vaage, and Sjur Hjeltnes, who is also the host. On Saturday 25 May, there will be a Drop-in marathon over five hours where today's Grieg Academy showcases its full range – with classical, jazz, folk music, and new compositions and projects.
After the jubilee weekend, the Drop-in concerts will return to their regular format, where students from the Grieg Academy will take the stage in 12 concerts from Monday 27 May to Wednesday 5 June. More programme details for these concerts will be available at fib.no/stikkinnom in May.

In connection with the anniversary there will be longer concerts Thursday 23 and Friday 24 May. Saturday 25 May there will be held concerts from 14:00–19:00 with breaks inbetween. All concerts have the same ticket price.

Ticket bundles with five optional concerts can be purchased in the ticket booth at Torgallmenningen from Monday 20 May, or at the entrance before each Drop-in concert.
