This one of a kind tour will guide you through the magnificent
landscapes of Hardanger. Explore fjords, waterfalls and national
treasures with Steinsdalsfossen waterfall, Hardangerfjorden, National Scenic Route, Hardanger Bridge, Voss municipality and Viewpoint Vøringsfossen waterfall. Norwegian- and English Speaking guide will drive you in our high class Mercedes minibus, giving you the best comfort and views on this trip. Get ready
to experience Hardanger and one of the greatest waterfalls in Norway, Vøringsfossen.

You will be up close to the fjords of Hardanger alongside fruit orchards and small traditional villages. Not only will you be seeing the famous Vøringsfossen, but also the beautiful Steinsdalfossen in Norheimsund. The perfect day trip for a memorable and breathtaking tour in Western Norway.

The tour starts by minibus at the Tourist Information in Bergen. We will drive 1 hour south-eastwards to the small village of Bjørkheim where we stop at a cafeteria beside a beautiful fjord. On our way to Hardanger we pass over a hilly area where many locals have holiday cabins. As soon as we enter the Hardanger region we will see one of Norway's most visited waterfalls, Steinsdalsfossen in Norheimsund. It is well known for the possibility of going under the waterfall without being wet. Steinsdalsfossen has a drop of 50 meters, but up close it looks like so much more because of how close you can see its natural powers. This is the perfect spot to take some photos!

Further on, we will drive the road between Norheimsund and Granvin, which is a part of the Hardanger National Scenic Route. It’s no secret that Hardanger is like a postcard, and almost everywhere you look you will be feasting your eyes on fjords, thundering waterfalls or fruit orchards. In the fruit season, we will stop at a local farm shop, selling fruit which has been picked the same morning. In late spring, you may see the fruit trees in full bloom (May), and in autumn you can see the beautiful autumn colours. In winter and early spring, you will see snow-capped mountains everywhere.

Hardanger is well known for its dramatic landscapes of mountains, glaciers, waterfalls and of course, fjords. This has attracted both tourists and artists for centuries. The people of Hardanger have been growing fruit since the 13th century.

  • High quality minibus with capacity of max 20 persons.

  • It is also possible to book the car only for your family or group. Prices upon request.

Next up is the famous Hardanger Bridge. On our way past the big mountains, we will drive through the Vallavik Tunnel (8km), which has an underground roundabout inside the tunnel with blue lighting. This will lead us directly onto Norway’s longest suspension bridge, the “Hardangerbrua”. This bridge connects the tunnels on each side, and you drive directly from the tunnel and onto the bridge. Its single-span 1,310-meter length makes it the world’s 16th longest! The view across this bridge is just breathtaking.

As we continue our journey, we drive though more scenic fjord landscape, and pass the serene Eidfjord Lake just before arriving at Upper Eidfjord. At the Norwegain Nature Center in Upper Eidfjord we stop for lunch. The centre`s  objective is to gather and spread knowledge about the interplays in nature, highlighting the relations between nature and human activity. You are welcome to purchase hot meals at affordable norwegian prices. Espescially recommended is the dear stew, and the mountain trout. The restaurant also serves soup, sandwiches and vegetarian options.

This tour saves the best for the last, with a panoramic view of Norway's
biggest attraction in waterfalls, Vøringsfossen. The best-known waterfall in Norway. It has a water plunge of 182 meters from the Hardangervidda plateau into the Måbødalen valley. You will see the majestic waterfall from viewing platforms above Vøringsfossen. The platforms are near Fossli Hotel, 1 km from route 7 Norwegian Scenic Route Hardangervidda. From the spectacular viewing platforms and from the bridge crossing the waterfall canyon, you can watch large amounts of water tumble down into the Måbødalen valley.

We will take another route on our return to Bergen, driving through Voss municipality, so you may experience even more on this tour. Voss is surrounded by snow-capped mountains, forests, lakes and fast-flowing whitewater rivers. This has led to its development as a notable center of skiing, water sports, skydiving, paragliding and other adventure sports. The minibus will make a stop here before we head back to the tourist information in Bergen for arrival.
