Half-day tour in beautiful Norwegian landscape. Includes a guided tour of Eidegrend and tasting of typical Norwegian food inside "Andersstova".
I look forward to take you on a personal guided tour where I will be your driver and your guide.
I speak english and german.
There is place for eight persons in addition to me in the minivan. The trip goes through the wonderful nature where we will cross the fjord by car ferry and drive along the fjord to Eidegrend in Hålandsdalen.
In addition to beautiful scenery in Eidegrend, you will have a great meeting with Norwegian cultural heritage. The place is in the family and I will give you a guided tour inside the houses from the age of 1800-1900. I will also tell you the story of the people who lived there.
You will get a taste of typical Norwegian food inside "Andersstova". Unfortunately, food allergies will not be taken into account.
A church was built in Eidegrend in 1890 and the place became a separate municipality and political center in 1903.
We will stay in Eidegrend for about 40 minutes so there is plenty of time to feel the calm and quiet and take lots of great pictures. After our stay at Eidegrend we return to Bergen via Samnanger. This is a great road trip in typical Norwegian nature.
The drive will take about 1 hour and 15 minutes before we arrive at the Strandkai terminal.
The first part of the tour is without a guide. You take the "Hardangerfjord Express boat" from Bergen / Strandkaiterminalen to Osøyro.
16:30: Departure from Strandkaiterminal next to the Tourist Information in Bergen
17:30: Arrival Osøyro.
I will pick you up when you arrive in Osøyro. I will hold a sign marked “Eidegrend”
17:40: Drive from the dock in ”Osøyro” to the car-ferry in ”Hatvik”
17:50: We will take the car-ferry across the fjord (Bjørnefjorden)
18:10: A 30 min drive along beautiful landscape
18:40: Arrival in Eidegrend
18:50: Guiding and stories about the Eidegrend and the old houses
19:20: Socializing in the old house from 1855. The guide will tell you the story/historie of Eidegrend and the use of the houses and serve a snack of typical norwegian favorites.
20:00: Departure Eidegrend
21:30: Arrival in Bergen (Tourist Information/Strandkai terminal)
The price includes the trip by car, guiding, Hardangerfjord Express and the car ferry.
As there are many steps and flagstones in Eidegrend this is not a trip recommended for disabled persons. We recommend to have good footwear.
Note that Eidegrend is only open for visitors as part of this tour. The tour must be booked in advance (see website for booking).
