Pop-up opera on the Fløibanen funicular.
OperaUp! is a series of spontaneous mini-concerts for travellers on the Fløibanen funicular.
Established and up-and-coming opera stars enter the funicular carriages Rødhette and Blåmann together with the other passengers. When the journey starts, so do the opera singers, with arias and elevating musical performances all the way to the top.
Fløibanen takes seven to eight minutes from Vetrlidsallmenningen at the bottom up to the crest of Fløyfjellet, and runs several times an hour.
Throughout the festival period, there will be OperaUp! performances during the daytime, but they come as suddenly and unannounced as a rain shower on a mountaintop.
