The traditional Market Day in Bergen will be held for the 40th time.
This annual event is featuring old-style market traders and a varied program of entertainment including games and exhibitions. This is the celebration of our coastal culture, the harbour fills up with beautiful old boats and the piers are full of happy people enjoying both old and new artistic expressions and impressions. The Town market has always been the meeting point between peasants, fishermen and the citizens of Bergen, busy trading goods, food and exchanging news and maybe some gossip. People at the coast are homely bound, but also curious about what can be found on the other side of the border, or the other side of the ocean. That is why coastal culture always is open to foreign impression, always dynamic and developing. With strong roots in history.
Welcome to celebrate our beautiful city with us, and experience fine boats, entertainment, handcraft and traditional food.
