During the lifespan of Keolis’s 10 year contract, the estimated reduction of emmisions is close to 85 %, with an average reduction of CO2 emissions by 6600 tons annually.
This comes in addition to the more than 500 buses used by another company, Tide, servicing bus lines in the southern, northern and western areas of Bergen. Tide operates 125 buses running on biogas and 329 buses running on biodiesel.
Add to this the further development of the Bergen Light Rail, life is looking much greener both for visitors and the inhabitants in Bergen.
