50 minutes by boat from Bergen Airport/ Flesland or Bergen city center you find the family run Bekkjarvik Gjestgiveri (guesthouse), situated by the harbor in idyllic Bekkjarvik on the island Austevoll. Bekkjarvik Gjestgiveri has a long history, it was built in the end of the 17th century. Today, the buildings have been renovated and adapted to the modern way of use, but at the same time the identity and charm of the small fishing village is well taken care of. The guest house is famous for its excellent cuisine based on fresh and local ingredients. Their chef Ørjan Johannesen, who is part of the family who runs the guest house, is actually a winner of the Bocuse d’Or back in 2015!
