Wondering where Bergen is located? You can find the historic city along the west coast of Norway, surrounded by spectacular fjords and majestic mountains.
Norway is one of three countries making up Scandinavia and is located in the north of Europe. Norway stretches over 1790 km from the south to the north and this combined with its countless fjords and islets gives Norway one of the world’s longest coastlines.
Norway also has a wide variety of natural landscapes with everything from glaziers and artic zones to green fjord landscapes and beautiful coastal areas. Bergen is easily accessible with over 45 direct flights and less than two hours flight away from London.
So, where is Bergen in this vast country? Bergen is located in the southern part of the west coast of Norway. The historical city of Bergen has been an important trading port for centuries and there are still buildings dating all the way back to the 11th century in the city center. Bergen offers a unique mixture of history, nature and exiting attractions, activities and tours all year round.

Bergen is located between Hardangerfjord in the South and the Sognefjord in the nord - right in the heart of the Fjord Norway area.
With seven mountains surrounding the city and Norway’s two largest fjords – the Sognefjord and the Hardangerfjord not far away, Bergen is the perfect place to start if you want to explore the fjords of Norway. Seeing the tall mountains with snow-covered peaks reflected in the calm water of the fjord is an experience unlike any other.
It is easy to reach the fjords on one of the many fjord tours leaving from Bergen every day. You can take short trips for a few hours or full day tours to visit the marvelous fjords and mountains or the unique coastline along Bergen.
