With its compact and intimate city core, surrounded by beautiful mountains, fjords and coastal line, Bergen is packed with great photo sites. Whether you want to get picture of the mountains, from the sea side or from the city centre, you will find great scenes everywhere you look.
Historical Bryggen in Bergen is a great place to take a nice photos, it may be the place to get the snapshot that you will use on the cover of your holiday album. If you walk out on Bryggen, you can shoot a picture that includes the historical treehouses, the ocean and the lively atmosphere in foreground, while capturing the beautiful Mt. Ulriken and Ulriken 643 in the background. Visit Bryggen an early evening when the sun is still up, and capture the beautiful colors from the sun lighting up the beautiful things Bergen has to offer.

Mt. Fløyen is one of Norways biggest tourist attractions, both for Norwegians and international tourist. One of the biggest experiences is to stand on the view point, looking down at the city. From here you can get a great picture of Bergen. The closeness to the city centre, combined with the view to the mountains, the fjords and the ocean makes this an ideal place for an overview photo of the city and the area. Capture a picture when the sun goes down in the ocean, and get a picture with wonderful colors from the sun lighting up the city and the surrounding nature.

Take the Ulriken 643 cable cars up to Bergen’s highest mountains. From here you will get a picture of the city and the surrounding region. Bring a good telezoom lens, and you will capture everything from the Folgefonna glacier in the south-east and Fedje out in the ocean in north-west. You will also be able to get a photo of Bergen with the Ulriken 643 cable cars in front. From here you can get a great picture of Bergen with the ocean in the background, while at the same time getting good photos of the fjords and mountains inland.

Bergen is known for it’s narrow alleyways and streets with picturesque wooden buildings lined up. At the right time of the day, often around midday, you can capture a really nice atmosphere that all people in Bergen are proud of. Take a walk towards Nordnes and Klosteret, and you will find many colorful houses and charming streets that are perfect photo sites.

Vågen is the charming arm of the city fjord that goes from Nordnes to Skoltegrunnskaien in Bergenhus. The small ferry Beffen takes you across Vågen, giving you plenty of time to capture a great photo of Vågen, with the Fish Market or Bryggen in the background. Maybe you are staying at one of the hotels, like Clarion Hotel Admiral? From here you can get a fantastic view of Vågen with Bryggen in the background. From Vågen you can get a nice picture of many of the most important things in Bergen; Bryggen, Fisketorget, Fløibanen and Mr. Ulriken.

The Fish Market is a lively market place with lots of activity. At the world known market place you can capture a photo with a fantastic atmosphere. Stallholders, locals and tourists makes brings life to your pictures, and the beautiful Bryggen, Fløibanen and Vågen is the perfect surroundings.

Gamle Bergen is one of the most popular photo sites in Bergen. The old wooden houses from the 1700s, narrow alleys and squares takes you back to Medieval times in Bergen. The small detales creates a unique atmosphere in your pictures. If you are lucky, you can also capture some actors playing out the life in Bergen in the 1800s.

In the centre of Bergen lies Lille Lungegårdsvann, with its fountains surrounded by grass, trees and flowers. Especially during the spring, when the trees blossom, you can capture a fantastic pictures of Lille Lungegårdsvann from Festplassen. From here you can capture a peaceful atmosphere, while showing one of the city’s green lungs with the majestic mountains in the background.

The Musikkpaviljongen (music paviljon) next to Festplassen and Lille Lungegårdsvann is surrounded by a beautiful park area with grass and flowers. Beautiful Begonia Dragon Wing roses is clinging to the arches of the pavilion, and the site is perfect for a family photo. Together with the surroundings, Musikkpaviljongen is a part of “Den grønne akse” (The green axis). This area is green and lush from May until late in October.
