The best seafood restaurants in Bergen
Bergen has always been known for first-class seafood. Today, some of Norway’s best seafood restaurants are located in our city. In 2022 the restaurant Lysverket was awared a Michelin star. Lysverket offers modern Nordic food with seafood from Western Norway. Also in the city center you can enjoy the Michel star restaurant Gaptrast Restaurant, and 22 small servings in their creative tasting menu.
Bekkjarvik Gjestgiveri in Austevoll, outside of Bergen, is run by Ørjan Johannessen, former winner of the Bocuse d’Or. One of his specialties is wild sheep, which is the most sustainable piece of meat you can get in Western Norway. He also runs the restaurant at Beckerwyc House called Mirabelle by Ørjan Johannessen. Even though not holding a Michelin star, this is a real gem and well worth a visit for food lovers.
