This data protection declaration describes how Bergen Tourist Board collects and processes personal data. Personal data are pieces of information that can be linked directly to you as an individual. This can be your name, address, email address, phone number or similar. You have a right to decide how this information is used.
The following is an overview of what data we collect and use, why and how we collect them and how we protect them.
Bergen Tourist Board is the controller for the enterprise’s processing of personal data.
1. Customer/member information
Bergen Tourist Board processes personal data about customers and suppliers in addition to any third parties that we need to perform our contractual obligations. The data that are processed include contact details for our customers’ and suppliers’ contact persons. Personal data are stored in our CRM and accounting system and are deleted within five years of termination of the customer relationship.
2. Personal data in connection with marketing:
Bergen Tourist Board processes personal data in connection with marketing activities. These personal data will not be disclosed to other enterprises without your consent.
Information by email:
It is possible to register for various email updates from Bergen Tourist Board (bulletins, newsletters etc.). This is voluntary and entails that you receive regular emails on the topics you have signed up for. In order to receive this information, it is necessary to register your email address and contact details. These data are stored in our CRM and email system. You can withdraw your consent for receiving emails from us at any time. In such case, Bergen Tourist Board will erase your contact information from the address list for the newsletter in question.
Information about potential customers:
Bergen Tourist Board stores the contact details of potential customers. These data are obtained from participants at various trade fairs, business cards received or correspondence with representatives of the enterprise. The purpose of this processing of personal data is to market our products and services to potential customers in order to coordinate our marketing efforts. The personal data of potential customers are erased within five years after they were registered in the database, unless a customer relationship is established, or consent is given for continuing to store the data.
Use of cookies on the website:
Bergen Tourist Board’s website visitbergen.com logs information about all visitors using Google Analytics. The information cannot be traced back to you as an individual. We use cookies so that we can provide an even better service to you. The cookies are mainly used to monitor traffic and optimise the website. Google Analytics: The cookies on our website are from Google Analytics (first-party cookie). It is possible to opt out of all registration in Google Analytics by installing an add-on in your browser: Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. In accordance with Google’s guidelines for the use of Google Analytics, personal data are not collected about the users. The data that are collected are stored on Google’s servers. Google Display Advertising: DoubleClick cookies are third-party cookies entailing that third-part suppliers, including Google, show customised ads from Bergen Tourist Board on a number of websites that are part of Google’s content network. This is also known as re-marketing. It is used to target relevant ads to users based on their interests and previous use of the websites. VWO: We use the VWO analysis tool to analyze user behavior on the web pages. The tool is used to make the site more user-friendly. Information collected is movements, clicks, and general behavior on the site. The information is gathered based on your IP address and all information is anonymized. Information can be displayed on both aggregated and detailed levels, but without any personal data.
3. Personal data in connection with online booking:
To complete a booking at visitbergen.com, you must consent to us storing personal data about you. This is so that we are able to process your booking. The information we store is your name, address, phone number, email address, and any other information you add as a comment in your booking. Payment information is stored with our e-commerce provider Teller/Nets. Your personal data will be shared with the owner of the product you have booked. You are notified of this in the terms and conditions for bookings.
4. Personal data in connection with registration of events:
When you register information about an event to be displayed on visitbergen.com, fjordnorway.com and visitnorway.com, you must register your name and email address. We need this information so that we can contact you if there are any questions about the event. The contact information will not be used for marketing.
5. Personal data in connection with personnel administration in Bergen Tourist Board:
Bergen Tourist Board processes personal data as part of its personnel administration. The data processed in this context include personal details, pay information, assessments, information about next of kin and education/position.
