During the summer months, swimming is a popular activity for the locals. Many people think this is strange, because the water temperature usually holds steady around 14C. But, when you get out, it’s like you’ve been reborn! The fresh water helps to clear your head, and the salt gives your body a free "scrub".

For swimming near the city center try Nordnes Sjøbad (paid entry), Sandviken Sjøbad, and Helleneset.
