Luggage Storage in Bergen

Arriving before check-in, or have a few hours to explore before your flight or cruise departs? Here's where you can safely store your luggage in Bergen city centre.

Luggage storage at the Tourist Information

The easiest option if you're already exploring the city center: you can leave your bags at the Tourist Information, conveniently located right at the Fish Market (Torget).

  • Price: NOK 100 per item, per day
  • Opening hours: Only available during the Tourist Information's opening hours
  • No overnight storage: Bags must be collected the same day - no storage overnight
  • Location: Mathallen, Strandkaien 3, on the Fish Market

This is the most central option in the city, right in the middle of the main sights, and a good choice if you want to combine dropping off your bags with picking up maps, brochures, tickets, or the Bergen Card.

Luggage lockers at Bergen train station

If you're arriving or leaving by train, Bergen train station has self-service luggage lockers right in the station hall.

  • Locker sizes: Several sizes available, from small up to an extra-large "Special L" size for bigger suitcases
  • Payment: Pay per hour or per 24 hours, so you can choose short-term storage if you're only killing a few hours before your train. Prices range from around NOK 199 for 24 hours (small locker) up to NOK 699 for 24 hours (Special L). See full locker pricing by size.
  • Access: Self-service, card payment only (no cash)

This is a good option if your day starts or ends at the station, since it saves you carrying luggage to the harbour and back.

Good to know before you go

  • No storage at Bergen Airport (Flesland): If you have a long layover, plan to store your bags in the city centre instead - not at the airport.
  • Ask your hotel: It's worth asking your hotel - many will store luggage before check-in or after check-out.
  • Bus travellers: Bergen bus station (Bystasjonen), next to the train station, also has locker facilities if the train station lockers are full.

Which option should I choose?

  • Spending the day around Bryggen, the Fish Market, or Fløyen? Leave your bags at the Tourist Information.
  • Arriving or departing by train? Use the lockers at Bergen train station.
  • Staying at a hotel before or after your booked nights? Ask at reception - many hotels can store your luggage.
  • Long layover at the airport? Store your bags in the city centre - there's no storage at Bergen Airport.
