What is a glacier?
A glacier is a large mass of ice formed over thousands of years by snowfall and frost. The glaciers are constantly moving slowly downwards, under the influence of gravity. It is the glaciers that have formed the Norwegian fjords by so-called glacier erosion. In other words, there are only fjords where there has previously been a glacier.

Glaciers - a spectacular nature experience
On a glacier in Norway you get to experience both snow, ice and the forces of nature up close. For many, a glacier walk is like a trip to a completely different world. On glacier walks, you can, among other things, walk on the blue ice, crawl through ice tunnels, hear the ice melt and experience cracks, caves and pointed towers in the ice. If you want even more excitement, you can climb 20 meter high walls of ice.
