Gay Bars and Inclusive Experiences
Experience Bergen, a city known for its inclusive and welcoming atmosphere. With a rich Pride history and the vibrant Regnbuedagene festival, Bergen is a great destination for LGBTIQ+ travelers, ensuring everyone feels at home.
Bergen has always embraced the world with an open mind, reflecting Norway's liberal attitude towards the LGBTIQ+ community. Norwegian laws strictly prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation, and in 2022, the country celebrated the 50th anniversary of the decriminalization of homosexuality. Today, Norway ranks among the top 10 countries on ILGA-Europe’s annual Rainbow Map, highlighting its commitment to equality and inclusion.

In Norway, it's uncommon to see labels such as "gay-friendly" on businesses. This is because all travel-related enterprises in Bergen, including hotels, activities, museums, and more, welcome everyone, regardless of their background. LGBTIQ+ travel in Bergen is therefore like any other travel to and within the city - open and inclusive.
While Bergen boasts only one dedicated queer bar, Fincken, this reflects the city's broad inclusivity. All bars and establishments in Bergen are welcoming to all people, creating a naturally inclusive environment without the need for specific labels.
Every June, Bergen hosts Regnbuedagene, Norway’s second-largest Pride festival, celebrating love and diversity. The festival features a vibrant public parade in the city center, drawing participants and spectators from near and far. Bergen also has a rich Pride history, check it out in this video.
