There are several different options you can choose from when travelling from Haugesund to Bergen. The most eco-friendly alternative is Kystbussen (the coastal bus) and it takes 3 hours and 15 minutes from Haugesund to Bergen city centre. By plane, the trip takes only 30 minutes and if you go by car the drive is about 140 kilometers long and takes 3 hours including a ferry ride of 45 minutes.
Kystbussen has 7 departures every day between Haugesund and Bergen, as part of the main route between Stavanger and Bergen. It takes you from city centre to city centre in 3 hours and 15 minutes, in state-of-the-art buses with adjustable seats, power outlets and WC on board.

If you choose to drive to Bergen, the fastest route will take you there in 3 hours. This route is on the E39 and includes a 45-minute ferry ride from Sandvikvåg, on the island of Stord, to Halhjem. From Halhjem it is a 30 minute drive to Bergen. You will find more information about this ferry here.

If you’re not in a hurry, take a detour to the island of Tysnes. From Jektevik on Stord you can take the ferry to Hodnanes on Tysnes. You will find more information about this ferry here. From Hodnanes it is a 20-minute drive to the ferry quay at Våge. Mandelhuset, a warm and friendly restaurant with a focus on local ingredients is located on the waterfront at the ferry quay. A meal at Mandelhuset is well worth the detour and afterwards you can get on the ferry from Våge to Halhjem. You will find more information about this ferry here.

If you want to stay longer on Tysnes we recommend you stay the night at Haaheim Gaard (Haaheim Farm). Haaheim Gaard is located 170 meters above sea level and has a spectacular view, a cultural garden with a chapel, garden house and 1500 meters of garden paths and 21 rooms decorated in historic style.
The flight between Haugesund and Bergen is short and takes only 30 minutes and Widerøe has 3 daily departures on this route. Getting from the airport to Bergen city centre is quick and easy with the Bergen Light Rail or the Airport Bus.
In Bergen there is a large selection of activities and attractions. We recommend that you plan and book in advance to get the most of your stay.
