Are you wondering how to get from the airport to Bergen city center? It’s easy to reach the city center with the Airport Bus, the City Light Rail or by taxi.
There are several efficient and easy alternatives for how to get from Bergen Airport Flesland to Bergen city center. Bergen has good public transport services with both the Airport Bus Flybussen and the Bergen Light Rail (called Bybanen in Norwegian), as well as taxis going between the airport and the city center. Bergen Light rail line 1 (Bybanen)
The cheapest way to get from Bergen Airport Flesland to Bergen city center is to go by the City Light Rail (Bybanen) line number 1. It takes about 45 minutes from the Airport to Bergen city center and it costs only NOK 51 for an adult (up to 4 children free on the same ticket). You can buy a ticket on the ticket machine at the platform, or use the Skyss Billett App. The Bergen Light Rail line 1 starts right at the airport terminal in Flesland and ends in the center of Bergen.
Important information summer 2026:
Due to maintenance work, Bergen Light Rail line 1 is suspended on the section Byparken–Slettebakken during the period 29 June–26 July 2026.
Bergen Light Rail runs as normal between Bergen Airport Flesland and Slettebakken, which is now the final stop. There are no extra buses from Slettebakken to the city centre. You must therefore get off at Lagunen Terminal or Nesttun, where extra buses to/from Bergen Bus Station are running.
We recommend changing to bus or light rail at Lagunen Terminal. The extra bus B1 runs via the motorway and is the fastest option. The bus terminal is located right next to the Bergen Light Rail stop at Lagunen, down the stairs. B1 departs from platform K, right by the stairs. The regular route 600, which follows the same route, also departs from the same platform.
Your ticket is valid on both Bergen Light Rail and the bus. The travel time is the same, approximately 45 minutes.
For those parking a motorhome at Slettebakken, bus number 5 runs from Sletten Senter as usual.

Airport bus (Flybussen)
A faster way to reach Bergen city center is by the Airport Bus (called Flybussen in Norwegian), which normally takes 30 minutes. The bus costs NOK 149 if you buy the tickets in advance online. If you buy the tickets on the bus it costs NOK 30 extra. The bus has several stops in Bergen city center, among them the Bryggen in Bergen area, making it the easiest way to get there by public transport. You can find the bus just outside the Flesland arrival terminal. All stops with the Airport bus are announced.

Taxi
The most direct way to get from Bergen Airport Flesland to your hotel is to take a taxi. The taxis are parked just outside the arrival terminal.
There are several taxi companies in Bergen, and you can freely choose who you want to travel with, regardless of their position in the taxi line. You do not have to choose the first taxi in the queue. We recommend 07000 Bergen Taxi.
You can look for them in the taxi rank or order on their app or phone. 07000 Bergen Taxi recommends ordering when you have received your luggage and the car will meet you in front of the regular taxi queue. They also have a guaranteed maximum fare for all rides between Flesland and the center of Bergen.
By taxi you will get where you are going fast and efficiently, especially if you stay outside of the city center.
