Halloween falls on a Saturday in 2026, and in Bergen, Norway, most of the celebrations take place from Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November. You can walk a witches' trail in the forest on Mount Fløyen, meet zombies among the fish at Bergen Aquarium, hear spooky music in a medieval royal hall, explore the science centre in the dark, or dare to enter the haunted house at a composer's historic home.
Here is an overview of what's on, when it happens and who it's for.
Any speech or theatre is in Norwegian, but the spooky atmosphere needs no translation.
1. Halloween on Mount Fløyen - Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October 2026

Fløyen is the mountain right above Bergen city centre, easily reached by the Fløibanen funicular in about six minutes. Together with Fyllingsdalen Teater, Fløyen invites you to two evenings full of fright, magic and suspense. Do you dare to sneak along the forest trail where mysterious and eerie creatures may be lurking? On Saturday, the evening ends with a proper witches' party on Fløysletten, the open area near the top. 2. Halloween at Bergen Aquarium - Friday 30 October 2026
18:00-19:30 - Ages 5+ - Separate ticket - Indoors
19:30-21:00 - Older children and the brave - Separate ticket - Indoors

3. Haunted Håkonshallen - Saturday 31 October 2026
12:00 - All ages - Separate ticket - Indoors
The Royal Norwegian Navy Band and Bergen City Museum invite families to a playful, spooky and spine-tingling concert in Håkonshallen, a 13th-century royal hall at Bergenhus Fortress in the city centre. The concert lasts about 40 minutes.

4. Halloween at VilVite - Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October 2026

Bone Chaos: Saturday 11:00-14:00 - Ages 6+ - Separate ticket - Indoors
VilVite, Bergen Science Centre, offers Halloween fun for the youngest and the activity Help, it's Bone Chaos! on Saturday 31 October 2026. On Friday there is an extra exciting evening for ages 10 and up. The lights go out, and everything becomes darker, scarier and even more thrilling. Who knows what you'll hear, or what you'll meet in the dark?

5. Halloween at Siljustøl - Sunday 1 November 2026
14:00-18:30 - All ages - Separate ticket - Indoors and outdoors
For one day, Siljustøl is transformed into a place full of dark shadows, mysterious sounds and eerie surprises. Siljustøl is the former home of Norwegian composer Harald Sæverud, surrounded by old trees and forest in Fana, south of the city centre. Expect performances in the woods, spooky walks through the haunted house, pop-up theatre outdoors and simple refreshments with cakes, pastries and drinks. Do you dare to pay a visit?
