Snøroser Landro

The vocal ensemble Tabula Rasa, a professional ensemble of six singers, presents the advent concert "Snøroser" in 2026. This project builds on the ensemble's earlier work and tours with the same concept, and seeks to create a deeper reflection on the relationship between silence, time and music. Feedback from concert attendees shows that there is a need for breathing space in an Advent season that often becomes hectic and saturated with content:

The concept "Snøroser" was introduced in 2022 and has since developed into a musical journey where contrasts such as the fragile and the strong, the fleeting and the lasting, take centre stage. In this concert series, Tabula Rasa wishes to dive deeper into these themes through a repertoire that combines familiar and unfamiliar material.

We present various works from different eras. Central to the programme is a work from 2024 inspired by Arvo Pärt's music, "Emergence" by Tord Kalvenes, as well as improvisations on Advent hymns. In this way the ensemble will explore how music both springs from and returns to silence. The audience is invited to an experience where they can pause and listen to both the notes and the silence between them.
