Experience Galleri Nygaten – where art becomes something you feel Right in Bergen, an experience far beyond the ordinary awaits.

At Galleri Nygaten, you get up close to the art – no barriers, no glass, no distance. Here, you’re not just a spectator, you move through the space, among the works, in the atmosphere. The gallery hosts one of Norway's largest private collections of figurative art.

Here you'll find masterpieces from Odd Nerdrum and his artistic family like Myndin Nerdrum, Øde Nerdrum and Turid Spildo – represented with 60 paintings and lithographs.

You'll also find works from some of the most recognised names in Norwegian and international art, such as Kai Fjell, Franz Widerberg, Kaare Espolin Johnson, Pushwagner, Dolk and David Bowie.

Several of Nerdrum’s students are also on display, including Eser Afacan – one of the most in-demand – along with artists like Elling Reitan, Trine Folmoe and Nicklas O’Leary.

In addition, the gallery has an extensive collection of Ferdinand Finne.

But it’s not just the art that makes the visit special. What meets you as you walk through the door is the whole experience. The architecture.

The sculptural spaces. Old furniture with stories going back to the 1600s. Sculptures by artists like Per Ung, Arne Durban, Thor Sandberg, and Leif Hedman.

Candlelight. A crackling fireplace. Room after room opens up – cosy living rooms, hidden corners and new perspectives. You keep discovering more the longer you stay. This isn’t a gallery you just walk through.
