Fedje is a beautiful village with everything within easy reach

Fedje offers a multitude of nature experiences, and everything is within easy reach.
Distance: 73 km.
Driving time: 1 hour and 19 minutes to Sævrøy ferry quay, approx. 30 minutes by ferry. Passengers are free of charge.
Best time to do it: April to September.
Fedje – the village in the ocean is a small island municipality on the outermost coast of Western Hordaland. People live side by side around the harbour in the north of the island, and its total population is around 500. Fedje is 7.4 square kilometres, and there are also hundreds of small islets and skerries.

From Bergen, you drive to Knarvik and turn left at the roundabout, and follow the Fv 565 road across Radøy to Austrheim and Sævrøy ferry quay. There is an all-year ferry service from Sævrøy in Austrheim to Fedje, which takes around 30 minutes (see the timetable).

Right by the ferry quay you will find the cosy café Jentene på kaien, which also serves as the local Tourist Information. Here they serve delicious cakes, sveler and coffee, as well as simple dishes. You can also pick up souvenirs, locally made art and local food products. There is also a grocery shop near by.

Fedje is a small island, and it's the chance to be outdoors, breathe in the fresh air, and soak up the calm that keeps people coming back.
North Sea Trail
One of the popular walks is the North Sea Trail in the beautiful heathlands, where you can enjoy fantastic views of the sea and the beautiful coastal flora and abundant fauna. See a description of the walk and a map here.
The Viewpoint Vidnappen
The viewpoint at Vidnappen, by Fedje traffic control centre, is just 40 metres above sea level, but you still get great views in all directions. See the fjords and mountains of Western Norway and the waves and expanse of the Atlantic Ocean.
Feddie Ocean Distillery
On Fedje, Feddie Ocean Distillery distils their world-renowned «Nine Sisters» gin, which has received several gold medals in among others the London Spirits Competition and the European Spirits Challenge. Despite being a small island, Fedje has a several places to stay and a couple of good dining options.
You can also take a RIB tour through the archipelago surrounding the island. Remember to check opening hours before your visit, and book your activities in advance.
Fedje Island offers accommodation in large apartments with balcony and sea views at Fab8. The largest apartment is a full 232 sqm and has 3 bedrooms, a meeting room and lounge area.
