Fedje is a hidden gem of a small island in the open sea, just an hour and a half from Bergen. Fedje offers accommodation, a restaurant, and activities such as guided tours at the distillery and hikes along the Nordsjøløypa coastal trail.
ACCOMMODATION
Fedje Island AS offers accommodation in spacious apartments with three bedrooms, a kitchen, living room, bathroom, balcony, and sea views at the historic Fab8 sardine factory.
The apartments include free WiFi and parking, bed linens, towels, and a fully equipped kitchen. Unfortunately, pets are not allowed.
Each apartment is named after the women who worked at Factory No. 8 at Bjelland's sardine factory, Fab8, except for the largest apartment, which is named Utsikten.
Utsikten - apartment with meeting room
In Utsikten, the living room features a large, inviting meeting room that accommodates up to 50 people in a theater setup and 25 people in a boardroom setup around a long table. It includes an 85" large screen, a spacious sofa area, and a lounge area.
Utsikten serves as a gathering place and meeting room for groups booking seminars and meetings.
Utsikten covers a total of 232 sqm and has three bedrooms (each of which can be arranged as a twin or double room), two bathrooms (including one ensuite). The living room and meeting room also feature a large sofa area and lounge section. Additionally, there is a beautiful terrace with views of the harbor and the entrance to the island.
Fab8 is a building with 3 floors without an elevator and unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.
FOOD & DRINK
If you stay at Fab8, you can dine and drink at Pernille Mat & Bar, just a few minutes' walk away. For companies and groups seeking privacy, meals can be served in one of the private dining rooms.
ACTIVITIES ON FEDJE
Fedje offers activities and experiences both at sea and on the island. The most popular attraction is a visit to Feddie Ocean Distillery, where you can join a guided tour and whisky tasting. You can also explore the island's beautiful nature by hiking along the Nordsjøløypa trail, which offers both short and long routes on gravel or natural paths. One section of the trail even includes a frisbee golf course.
You can book a fishing trip in the archipelago with a local fisherman or rent an RIB boat for a tour around the island, including a stop at the beautiful Hellisøy Lighthouse.

MARINA
Fedje Island has a marina with service facilities and everything you need. At the Fab8 sardine factory, you can dock your own boat. The service building, with toilets and showers, is available to our paying guests.
HOW TO GET TO FEDJE
Just an hour and a ferry ride from Bergen! Only one and a half hours by car from Bergen, including the ferry ride, providing a perfect getaway from everyday life.
By car
From Bergen city center, it is approximately 70 km, taking about one hour to drive to Sævrøy ferry terminal, followed by a 30-minute ferry ride to Fedje center. The ferry is free, but if you prefer not to bring your car to Fedje, you can park for free at Sævrøy Ferry Terminal.
From Bergen Airport Flesland, it is approximately 84 km, taking about 1 hour and 20 minutes to drive to Sævrøy ferry terminal, followed by a 30-minute ferry ride.
By bus
Bus travel time from Bergen bus station varies but usually takes around 2.5 hours. You can use the Skyss route planner to arrange your trip from your nearest bus stop.
If you select Fedje Ferry Terminal as your destination, you will receive suggestions for buses that connect with the ferry.
By boat
Another option is to take the express boat from Bergen to Vardetangen. Check schedules at norled.no. From Vardetangen, it is 18.5 km to Sævrøy ferry terminal (about a 20-minute drive). It is recommended to pre-book a taxi from Nordhordaland Taxi at 03020.
