After about 3 hours’ drive you reach Gol where you can see Gol Stave church or go skiing in winter. Also, a short distance from Gol is Hallingdal which is a fantastic nature area, known for its ski resorts, but also the great hiking opportunities in the area. At Gol you can also choose to head north via Hemsedal and drive the long tunnel (Lærdalstunnelen) between Lærdal and Aurland.
The Lærdal tunnel is 24.5 kilometer, is the world's longest road tunnel. The tunnel runs between Aurland and Lærdal. It may not sound very exciting to drive through a long tunnel, but the Lærdal Tunnel has sections along the way that are illuminated with beautiful colors and give the feeling of being in an exciting, underground world.

Here you will also find the historic King's Road (Kongevegen) from 1793, now a beautiful road for walking. The entire road is 100 kilometres, but you can walk the Vindhella and Sverrestigen section in less than 2 hours. You can go on your own or on a guided tour.
After about 5 hours’ drive from Oslo, you arrive at the famous fjord village Flåm. Flåm is a perfect place to stop and watch the Sognefjord, take a fjord cruise, go for a walk or take one of the world's steepest and most beautiful rail trips with the Flåm Railway to Myrdal and back. Take a few hours in Flåm or stay overnight and experience the Norwegian fjord landscape in all its glory.
