Are you wondering how to travel between Oslo and Bergen? Choose between flying, driving, taking the train or the bus.
Travel from Oslo to Bergen by plane, the beautiful Bergen Railway train, bus or car and see the incredible fjords and mountains of Norway. The journey between the two cities is packed with beautiful nature sights and villages that makes the trip an attraction in itself. Bergen is a lively and historic city surrounded by mountains and it’s the perfect starting point for visiting the world’s most spectacular fjords, like the Sognefjord and the Hardangerfjord.
A plane journey from Oslo to Bergen takes under one hour and there are over 20 flights every day between Oslo and Bergen. Traveling between the airport and the city center is easy, with good transport options like the Bergen Light Rail Bybanen or the airport shuttle bus Flybussen.
The train from Oslo to Bergen passes through spectacular landscapes and gives you a lot of options for excursions on the way. The train from Oslo gets you directly to the city center in Bergen, so you can easily get to your hotel and start exploring.
If you would like to combine the train from between Oslo and Bergen with a visit to Flåm and the Flåm Railway, you can do so with the tour called "Norway in a nutshell® (the one way option). This tour includes the train from Oslo to Myrdal, the Flåm Railway from Myrdal down to Flåm, a cruise from Flåm to Gudvangen, and the bus to Voss. At Voss you change for the Oslo-Bergen train to Bergen. This trip takes about 12 hours (depending on time of year).

You can also travel with Vy express VY190 along the coast from Oslo to Bergen.
When driving by car from Oslo to Bergen you really have the flexibility to explore all the big and small attractions on the way like Flåm or the Vøringsfossen waterfall in Eidfjord. Drive on the national tourist routes in Hardangervidda, take a detour to the Folgefonna glacier or stay overnight in Voss.
By bus the journey from Oslo to Bergen takes around 9 and a half hours. Really appreciate the nature as you drive through the mountain passes and scenic roads towards Bergen. The road from Oslo to Bergen is wonderfully picturesque and gives you a good view of some of the vast and wild nature of Norway.
