With one of the best views in town, Ostra is located on the waterfront in Solheimsviken and is the perfect place for a gastronomic journey, while watching the sun set behind the sailboats in the harbor.
‘Ostra’ means ‘oyster’ in Spanish – a nod to our Mexican roots, carefully intertwined with the best seafood in the world, which you’ll find right here off the coast of Norway. We pride ourselves on serving tasty and innovative dishes made with love, and a deep passion for delivering a unique dining experience to our guests. We love trying new things and exploring local produce, so that every visit can offer something new and exciting for the palate. Order a selection of dishes for the table and share with your friends and family to try the full variety of flavors on our menu.
The atmosphere and interior are inspired by mid-century design, with fantastic natural light illuminating the industrial hints of our building’s architecture. Our inspiration comes from the buzzing nightlife of bars and restaurants of metropolitan cities, combined with the elegance of the Norwegian landscape. Our open kitchen bar stretches throughout the whole restaurant – a perfect opportunity to have a sneak peek at the creation process, and maybe even try some new dishes and recipes in the making.

There is nothing like a warm summer’s day in Bergen, and there’s nothing quite like the view from the outdoor serving at Ostra. Soak up the sunshine, or dive in and take a swim from the quay while waiting for your meal. During autumn and wintertime, Ostra is an exquisite place to watch the weather storming from the outside, while enjoying warming spices on the inside.

We offer the entire venue for private events.
We have a seating capacity of 150, and welcome groups of up to 200. We will customize our menu and service to suit your needs.
How to get there:
Ostra is located in Solheimsgaten 3, next to Moxy hotel, but with a separate entrance.
Public transport: The easiest way to get here by public transport is by taking Bybanen (the city tram) from the city center. It is a 5-minute trip from Byparken to Florida, which is the nearest stop. From there it is a 3-minute walk to the restaurant. (Continue in the same direction as the tram, and on the same side of the street as you got off. Make a right at the roundabout and cross the bike lane. Walk through the barrier/gate and pass the Moxy hotel on your right-hand side. Continue straight until you reach the end of the building, turn right on the corner, and Ostra will be on your right-hand side.)
By car: Drive to Bergen legevakt (the A&E) and park in the public parking.
By boat: We have a private boat mooring spot right outside the restaurant. The boat spot is pre-booking only.
