On this route there are two ferries, which provide a welcoming break from driving. The first ferry ride is only 20 minutes from Ålesund. This ferry goes across Storfjorden from Solavågen to Festøya and takes approximately 20 minutes. The price per car is approximately NOK 100 kroner.
About 90 minutes drive after the ferry across Storfjorden, you reach the 3 small charming villages Stryn, Olden and Loen. If you are not in a hurry, we recommend a trip 1000 meters up the mountain with Loen Skylift. If you want a special nature experience, we highly recommend a detour to Briksdalsbreen (Briksdal glacier) or Jostedalsbreen (Jostedal glacier).
