Welcome to Siderhuset Ola K at Nå. The history of the house began in 1912, when Ola K Naa built a conveniently located building to be able to help the locals in Vikebygd. To help with retail, fruit delivery, mail and in general act as a unifying place for people and new impressions.
The building at Naa functioned as an arena for goods and people out into the world and for goods and people into Vikebygd and thus Hardanger. An arena that Norway's foremost painters already in the 19th century wanted to convey with the beautiful painting Brudeferd i Hardanger as one of the highlights.
Many of the region's eternal characteristics are reflected here; beautiful nature and amazing views, unity but also independence, and not the least, an infectious historical consciousness. The natural conditions create favorable conditions for growing apples and today some of the Hardangerfjord's best cider producers are represented at Siderhuset - a neutral arena for their products and philosophy. A value creation that must be conveyed, and preferably with good food.
Restaurant Siderhuset Ola K offers a variety of different ciders - from the dry, to the more sweet sparkling ciders, via mixed ciders into the more intense and complex ice-ciders. Most Hardanger ciders are characterized by a wonderful acidity. Every single bottle reflects the manufacturer's value set and here you can experience it; you can quench your thirst for cider and knowledge with us.
For more than 110 years, the good values of the Naa-family such as hard work, dedication and courage to invest have kept the activity and space by the quay in full swing. Now the family and their good partners are trying to facilitate development, quality and information. Welcome to an experience in the name of the cider.
Events:
From October to April we are often open Thursday to Saturday with various events such as tastings (wine, cider, beer, etc.), birthdays, VIP offers, meetings and more. We have a lovely conference room at third floor (15-20 pax) with projecter. Feel free to send a request for specific requests.
We also welcome groups up to 80 people for dining. Please book well in advance.
How to get to Siderhuset Ola K:
The restaurant is located approx. 2.5-3 hours from Bergen by the Sørfjord in Hardanger. There are several travel options for public transport such as bus, bus-boat, train-bus.
Take the bus, car or train to Voss, then bus/car to Kvanndal, then ferry to Utne, then only 15 minutes by bus/car to Nå.
Take a bus or boat from Bergen to Rosendal and from there on to Odda in Sørfjorden. We are located by the fjord at Nå, only 20 minutes by car / bus from Odda center. Alternatively, take a bus or car to Norheimsund and then via Kvanndal to Utne and Naa. When you drive from Utne through Velure – the scenery is just like being part of the Lord of the Rings… truly amazing.
Or take a car/bus from Bergen-Norheimsund-Tørvikbygd, ferry to Jondal, then bus/car to Odda, then only 20 minutes by car/bus to Nå.
