During this beginner level tour, you’ll experience coastal wildlife, hear stories about the local cultural and natural history, and enjoy food made from local ingredients. We will camp in tents on one of the islets. This is a perfect soft adventure.
The tour starts at 15:00 from outside TouristIinformation in Bergen. We will drive you to Syltøy in Øygarden 40 minutes outside Bergen where we pack our kayaks and start the guided tour into the fjord. Whilw we're kayaking the guide will tell you stories about the local cultural and natural history.
If you like to try your luck fishing, we have fishing rods available. After 2-4 hours kayaking we will reach the camp area. We build the camp for the night, set up tents and make a bonfire. You and the guide will make a lovely dinner together. The menu is discussed with the group in advance. All food in the camp is made from scratch. Often we make local dishes like mackerel and Norwegian vaffels with sour cream and jam for dessert. The next morning we serve a real Norwegian breakfast using a lot of local products.
If we are lucky we will get to see eagles, seals and a lot of birdlife on the tour. After a good breakfast and a relaxing morning, we start the kayak tour back to Syltøy, but via another route than the day before. We will arrive back in Bergen city center around 15:00.

Primarily we want you to bring your own sleeping bag, but it is possible to borrow one from us if you don't have one. Bring warm clothes for the evening.
Departure point:
The guide will meet you outside the entrance to the Tourist Information at 15:00. The driving time is around 40 minutes from Bergen city center.
The tour start from our base at Syltøy at around 16.00. If you like to drive to Syltøy with your own car, please let us know in advance.
Booking:
The tour can be booked online or at the Tourist Information in Bergen, latest 20:30 the day before.
(Any bookings later that this must be done by telephone. Please note that there is limited capacity on this tour).
Cancellation policy:
If you cancel within 48 hours of the tours departure from the Tourist Information, you will receive a full refund. In case of cancellation less than 48 hours before the departure of the tour, no refund will be given.
