Join us on a memorable day trip that offers some of the most beautiful scenery Norway has to offer - on water as well as on land! Only 10 people per trip on this exclusive fjord and mountain experience.
The tour begins with a Rødne Fjord Cruise departing from Bergen’s Fish Market and returns to the same location at the end of the journey.
We sail from downtown Bergen through magnificent landscapes in Osterfjord to Modalen, Norway's second smallest municipality. The crew takes us safely through the strong currents of shallow and narrow Mostraumen straits. The farther into the fjord we get, the steeper and more powerful the mountain landscape becomes. Along the way, the captain will steer the boat’s bow so close to a thundering waterfall that you might get your face doused with its delightful spray!
After a fjord cruise packed with enjoyment, we arrive at Modalen at 11:30. Modalen is one of Norway's smallest municipalities with less than 400 inhabitants, a small village nestled between the mountains and the fjord with old white charming wooden houses, and a beautiful wooden church. The guide takes us on a short drive before we start the mountain hike to “Slottet”. The hike takes about one hour each way, has a vertical gain of 200 meters and is a wonderful adventure! From the top you can enjoy a beautiful view of fjord landscapes that you just sailed through.
Our experienced mountain guide ensures a rich and safe mountain trek. The guide freely shares his knowledge and expertise about nature and the area and does everything to ensure that you have a fantastic hike.
After a nice lunch break at the top, we head down to Modalen again. Once back in the village, there will time for refreshments on the pier or a refreshing swim in the fjord, before leaving by boat back to Bergen.

Minimum number of participants:
This trip requires a minimum of 4 people. The trip must be booked no later than 12:00 the day before departure.

The trip is not recommended for children under age 7.

7 hours, including 2-2.5 hours of hiking.

Audioguiding in Norwegian and English on board the boat. Other languages are available when the crew sees the need.
Norwegian and English speaking guide accompanies the group on the mountain hike.
Hiking:

The hike is not suitable for wheelchairs and prams. Dogs are not allowed on this trip.
