About
Experience spectacular nature with views of mountains, fjords, deep valleys, waterfalls, and glaciers on this guided tour to Trolltunga.
The hike to Trolltunga is long, covering 28 km from P2 and 20 km from P3. This is a demanding hike suited for those with at least medium hiking experience. Snowshoes and poles are provided if needed.
Minimum number of participants:
A minimum of three registered guests is required for the tour to take place. If the tour must be cancelled due to an insufficient number of participants, a full refund will be issued. Valid travel and accident insurance that covers mountain hiking is required.
Sustainable hiking:
One of the core principles of the tour is to leave no trace in nature. The goal is to leave the area at least as clean and beautiful as it was upon arrival. All participants are encouraged to bring back everything they take into the mountains.
Included in the price:
Included in the price, you'll get a delicious lunch with options for vegetarians and gluten-free alternatives, plus snacks from local Hardanger businesses and a few small surprises. The guides are more than happy to take great photos and video clips for you during the trip so that you can focus on enjoying the experience.
Meeting Point:
The group meets at Skjeggedal (P2) at 08:00, where the guide will be waiting. If conditions allow, it may be possible to drive up to Mågelitoppen (P3), which saves 4 km of distance and 400 meters of elevation gain.
Packing List:
Remember that the weather can change quickly in the Norwegian mountains. Weather forecasts are often unpredictable, and even on a summer day, there can be snow. It is important to wear good hiking clothes and have extra clothing with you if it gets cold. You never know what kind of weather you'll get – and if you're lucky enough to have a sunny and warm day, a towel and swimwear might be nice to bring if you want to take a refreshing and cold swim in the mountain lakes.

How to get to Odda and Tyssedal from Bergen:
By car:
The closest village to the hike is called Odda. The distance from Bergen to Odda is approximately 150 kilometers, and the trip takes around three hours by car.
It is recommended to travel from Bergen to Odda or Tyssedal the day before and spend the night there. This is primarily a matter of safety – the Trolltunga trip is both long and physically demanding, and it can be risky to embark on such a hike after several hours behind the wheel. Planning an extra night after the mountain trip may also be a good idea to allow for proper recovery.
