Guided tour to Ole Bull's villa Lysøen with mini concert and tour of the villa. Including transport from the Tourist Information. Sundays in July and August.
Ole Bull is referred to as the archetype of the Norwegian adventurer. As a world famous violin virtuoso, he was one of the international “pop-stars” of the 19th century, and in many ways defined the Norwegian and the re-born Norwegian kingdom. His home at Lysøen, or his “little Alhambra,” as he called it, with the exotic ornamentals both exteriorly and inside the high ceiling of the music hall, is the high point of Norwegian historicism. The sizeable island boasts kilometres of white trails and romantic hideouts. Lysøen not only offers fantastic architecture and unexpected natural wonders, but also has a café, swimming spots and marked trails. Be prepared to be carried away into the fascinating fairytale world of Ole Bull.
